Brief Case : school uniform
  trousers or skirts?

Governors at a school in Suffolk have decided to require all students to wear trousers as part of their school uniform, which means that girls will no longer be allowed to wear skirts to school.

The decision was made after a number of girls turned up for school wearing very short mini-skirts, which the governors decided were not appropriate.

The school is confident that it has not broken sex discrimination law, as anyone who complained would need to show that the new rule was more restrictive for girls than boys.
