Brief Case : resisting arrest

don’t breathalyse my daughter!

Fred, aged 76, was travelling in a car driven by his daughter Vicky when they were stopped by the police. As Vicky was being breathalysed, Fred knocked the breathalyser out of the officer’s hands.

Fred pleaded not guilty to obstructing a police officer and resisting arrest, but was tried and found guilty by the magistrate. The grandfather was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £100 fine and £75 court costs.

Vicky was disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £200.
