Terry and Maureen had split up when their two children were small, and then Terry died of cancer. Terry’s parents wanted to have a role in the upbringing of the grandchildren, but Maureen was opposed to it.
In the end the court ruled that it would add stability to the children’s lives if they saw their grandparents, and made an order for occasional contact.
