Who is it for?

Concise, up-to-date and readable, the Young Citizen’s Passport Online is for young people, teachers and parents – anyone who needs to know how the law affects them.

What does it do?
This site tries to give simple clear information about the law, especially on subjects that particularly affect young people.

Details of how and where to get further help are also given, along with case studies showing how the law can work in practice.

In summarising the law, we have had to leave out some details that may be relevant to your own situation. So:

bullet1 don’t rely on this site as proof of your legal rights
bullet2 always take further advice before taking any legal action
bullet3 use the Citizens Advice Bureau, or one of the many other advice centres
bullet4 remember that the law is always developing and changing

To the best of our knowledge we have described the law as it stood on 1st December 2004.

How to get around the site
Please use the section links at the top of the screen or the headings on the left to navigate your way around the site.
