We hope you’ll experience no problems at all with finding your way around the Young Citizen’s Passport Online.

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions. If you don’t find what you need to know, just email YCPOnline@hodder.co.uk.

  1. Lost track of that case you wanted to revisit?
A link to the index of brief cases can be found at the foot of the main home page and every section home page.

  2. Can’t see all the text in a brief case pop-up?
Have you closed all other pop-up windows before you open the new one? If not, it may open in the wrong size window.

  3. Finding that a link from the contacts page to an external website no longer works?
Please let us know by emailing YCPOnline@hodder.co.uk.

  4. You’re in a section of your choice, but you can’t navigate as you want to?
Just clicking a section heading such as Violent crime, in the left-hand margin, does not take you to a ‘violent crime’ page – it opens the menu so you can see all the options. Click on a subsection such as ‘reasonable force’ to see the text you need.

  5. Need more information on a specific subject?
There may be more to read on a linked page. Look out for links at the top or bottom of the text pages. Still not satisfied? Use the links to other websites from the Contacts section to research your subject still further.

  6. Why is a particular illustration chosen to make a point?
Any links between people whose images appear in these pages and specific situations are entirely unintentional. Names have usually been changed to protect the identities of those whose cases we have investigated.

  7. How do I get the best view of the screen?
Press F11 to maximise your view. The website has been optimised for 800 x 600 screen resolution.

  8. The law is always changing. How do I know the site is up-to-date?
The site was up-to-date as at January 2006. We will do our best to keep track of changes in the law, on a regular basis. Look at the date at the foot of this page to know when the last full update took place, but please bear in mind that you should not rely on the legal information on this site – if you are in trouble, get professional advice.
