Different countries take very different attitudes to what happens on the road. In some US states, you can get a provisional licence to drive at 14, while in most parts of Europe you have to wait until you are 18.

The government has considered raising the minimum age for a provisional driving licence from 17 to 18, but it hasn’t happened yet…
